On April 25, at the regular meeting of the Spring Session, Ali Majlis unanimously approved Jeyhun Jalilov as the Prime Minister of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. According to the Constitution of Azerbaijan and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, the President of Azerbaijan nominates the candidacy of the Prime Minister to Ali Majlis, which approves the head of the government of the Nakhchivan autonomy. The new Prime Minister Jeyhun Jalilov was previously a member of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, where he was the Minister of Labor and Social Protection of Population. 

According to the Constitution of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, executive power in the autonomy is exercised by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. As the supreme executive body of the autonomous republic, the government is subordinate to Ali Majlis (Parliament) and regularly reports to it.
