Acting Chairman of Ali Majlis (Parliament) of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, Anar Ibrahimov, called an extraordinary session of the parliament by his resolution dated 12 August 2024. 

The amendments to the Law on the Budget of the Autonomy and the amendments to the Law on the Budget of the Unemployment Insurance Fund were submitted for discussion at the extraordinary session.  Two meetings of the special committee on economic policy were held during the session, as well as parliamentary sittings on 14 and 16 August. Following three readings, both laws were adopted. The revised budget law stipulates that revenue will amount to AZN 190,484,816, expenditure AZN 539,265 thousand, and a subsidy from the central budget of AZN 336,460 thousand.  The budget deficit will be AZN 12,320,184, which will be financed from the residual funds of the Road Fund (specialised extra-budgetary fund of the autonomy).

The outgoing parliament also considered the issue of changing the composition of the Central Election Commission of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. Ramil Orujaliyev was elected as a member of the Commission.
